MAYOR’S COURT.
This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) DRUNKENNESS. Peter Smith and Mark Pellett were each fined 5s ; Isabella Solomon, 40s or a week’s imprisonment, and an additional ■week’s imprisonment for being an habitual druukard, ALLEGED THKVT. Elizabeth Coubray charged with stealing a watch, the property of one rllen Andrew, was remanded for a week. SdftNOß SFKENCE, Quin v. John and Frederick Hill was a charge of using obscene anguage. Mr Harris, who appeared for the defendants, stated that the case had been withdrawn, the matter being settled out of Court. His Worship expressed his disapproval of the action of the complainant, ami intimated that he would himself institute an inquiry into the facts, and if they were as had been alleged, the defendants’ licenses as cabmen wou’d be cancelled, and if the complainant had made a false statement he would be trtated iu the same way.
