ARRIVED. Wellington—Oct. 16, 3.30 a.m., Wellington from Pictou, with San Francisco Mail. The ss Beautiful. Star arrived at 12.30 a.m. to-day. She sailed from Port Chalmers on Tuesday at 7 p.m., had heavy westerly gales, and at 3 p.m. on Wednesday put in to Tautuku Bay, remained there till 7.30 next morning, when more moderate weather set in ; sailed again, and arrived at Bluff same day at 4.30 p.m. ; discharged and sailed again at 6 a.m. next day { Friday) for Invercargill; arrived at the wharf at noon ; discharged and loaded and sailed again on Saturday at 2.30 p.m. ; arrived at the Blnff at 5.45 p.m., and took in cargo ; sailed at 5.15 a.m. yesterday, and arrived as above; had fresh westerly winds to the Nuggets, thence strong head wind and thick rainy weather, with heavy head sea. The Schooner Alice, , for Waikouaiti, sailed this forenoon.
The three-masted schooner Amphitritc, from Foo Choo Foo, was towed by the ps Peninsula from the Port to Dunedin this afternoon.
The ss Tararua, for Melbourne via the Bluff, sailed this afternoon, on receipt of passengers, cargo, and mails per harbour steamer.
