SIR— It was resolved, at a meeting held last evening at which the undermentioned gentlemen were present, that a public meeting should be convened to take into consideration the Railway Contracts with Messrs Brogden and Sons, and that the Deputy Superintendent should be requested to convene such meeting. The Deputy Superintendent is at present absent from town, and we are informed that he cannot be communicated with before Friday next. As it is desirable that there should be no delay in obtaining an expression of pubiic opinion on this subject, we have to request that you will convene a public meeting to be holden at the Masonic Hall on Monday next at half-past seven in the evening.
