The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £'244 19s Id. A. Mercer reports for the week ending Oct. 7. —Retail prices only : Fresh butter, in lumps, at fld ; 4 and lib prints, lOd, and very plentiful 5 salted and powdered butter, new season, lOd per lb ; salt butter, in keg new season, 9d per lb, but very little demand, owing to there being plenty of old butter in the market selling at low prices. Cheese very plentiful, and little or no change in the market; good quality, 6d to 8d per lb. Side and rolled bacon, smoked, 8d to 10d per lb ; Colonial hams, Is per lb ; English hams not much in demand, Is 4d per lb. English cheese, quite unsaleable, Is 4d lb. Eggs are very plentiful*and in .good demand, and retailing at lOd to Is per dozen. Flon*- bearing best Provincial brands is in fair trade demand at LI 3 10s. Station wants, on account of the approaching wool season, are heavier. Inferior brands and unguaranteed flours are in request, and a fair quantity is being disposed of at L 9 to LI I 10s. Bran is still overstocked. Pollard is in supply equal to the demand. Wheat, if grown In the Taieri, is worth 5s 3d for best parcels, and the millers are buying as much as possible at this rate ; most of the faimers however sold at higher rates. Cood milling lots are worth ss, inferior 4s (id, or less. Oats are dull, the fanners are indisposed to place ’what they hold at the present prices Barley is wanted for malting at 3>{(M to 3s 9d, Feeding meets with better sale, and is worth 2s to 2s (id. Potatoes are wanted at L 3 ss, but there are few to be had. Wheat, 5s to 5s 3d, milling, 4s to 4s 6d, inferior. 3s, fowl wheat; oats, milling, 2s 2d to 2s 3d, feeding, 2s 1; barley, malting, 3s 6d to 3s 9d, feedin", 2s to 2s 6d ; flour, best, Ll3 10s, second class, L 9 to Lll 10s ; pollard, with bags, L 4 10s; bran, with bags, L 3 15s; oatmeal, Ll4; pearl barley, Ll9 10s; straw, L2 10s; hay, L 4 10s, chaff, L 4 10s ; potatoes, L 3 ss; turnips, L2.
