The supervision of docking, &c., was entrusted to Mr Andrew M'Kinnou. The barque Guiding Star, from Houg Kong, was running up the harbor at 2 p.m. to day. The party of carpenters engaged in getting the barque Premier off the rocks at Oamaru, returned to the Port by the Wallace on Saturday evening. One of the party states that the Premier was hove off to her anchor on Friday at about 2 p.m. The party continued to hale and pump until about 8.30 p.m., at which time the vessel sank almost level to the rails ; the brig Wave that was lying close to was hailed, and a boat was sent and took the party from the wreck. At a later hour as the vessel was likely to drag inshore in a position that would impede the operations of the landing service, the Premier’s chain was slipped, and she went on shore on the beach near the flag-staff. No hopes are now entertained of getting her off.
