(from greville's telegram company, REUTERS AGENCY.) Wanganui, Oct. 0. On Wednesday Mr W. H. Shephard, proprietor of the Wanganui to New Phunouth coach, was thrown from his coach and kicked in the side by a horse. He lingered in great agony, and died this morning, greatly regretted. Hokitika, Oct. 2, The barque Zephyr, which grounded on the North Spit on Saturday, was towed in by the Lioness yesterday. Port Chalmers, October 2. The barque Guiding Star that left Hong Kong on June 10th, and arrived here at two o’clock this afternoon with I'J'J passengers, has been placed in quarantine. Twenty-seven deaths are reported to have occurred during the passage, and 20 cases of sickness are now said to exist on board. The stated diseases are scarlatina and dysentry.
