Supreme Court.—The case for the prosecution in Eegima v. Feichelt has not yet finished. Mayor’s Court.—The only business transacted to-day was the preliminary hearing of a charge of theft preferred against John Travers, who was remanded to the 2nd prox.
Charlotte Cushman, yielding to the popular wish, was to have appeared in Henry VII in New York, in September. According to a parliament report, there is but one licensed pedlar in all Ireland. He takes his certificate from the County Down. England and Wales contain 67,694 pedlars, and Scotland, 11,852. A London theatre specially devoted to burlesque, announces among the attractions of the pieces now being performed on its boards, “diaphanous and irridescent dresses ’’ This is one of |thc boldest announcements' of the kind that we have seen We do not quite know the meaning of “ irredescent” in connection with dress; but a “diaphanous” dress in neither more nor less than a “transparent” dress, and dresses that are transparent, whether ‘ irridescent” or not, might he more plainly described as “ indecent.” Advertisements received too late for Classification. pEINCESS THEATRE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 29, 1871. .
