He amount of revenue received at the Cus tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £363 7s 3d.
The grain market is unchanged in quotations The wheat offering now is, as a rule, of an inferior quality. Prime milling parcels are steady at 5s 3d ; but transactions of the week have been limited. Oats, -if regular and well cleaned, are readily saleable at 2s 4d to the millers ; in feeding aorta there is not much doing. Barley is dull; for feeding there is no market, and malting lots have not changed hands to any extent. In flour the sale is confined to trade supplies. Bran is overstocked, and is quoted at L2 15s per ton. Pollard is in better supply, but stocks are still light. Wheat, milling, os 3d ; second class, 45,3 d to 5s t'oats, 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; Barley, feeding, 2s ; malting, 3s 9d ; Flour, Ll4; pollard, including bags, L 4 10s ; bran, including bags, L3lss; oatmeal, Ll4 ; pearl barley, Ll9 10s; potatoes 1.3 ; straw, L2 10s; bay, L 4 os ; chaff, L 4 ; turnips, L2 ; carrots, L2 10s ; onions, 1210s. A. Mercer reports for the week ending Sept. 16.—Uetail prices only : Fresh butter, in lumps lOd per lb ; prints, Is ; first class brands, Is Id; new salt and powdered butter, Is per lb. Little or no demand for butter in kegs, excepting for first-class samples. Cheese very plentiful and dull of sale, unless for very best qualities, fid to 8d per lb. Side and rolled bacon, fhl to ]od per lb. Colonial hams, Is per lb ; English hams, Is 4d to Is ,fid per lb, but very little sold ; English cheese, Is Id per lb. Eggs very plentiful, and selling well at Is per dozen.
