The ship Wild Deer, for London, was towed to sea this forenoon. The barque Glencoe, for Hobart Town, sailed from Dunedin this morning, when, in consequence of the change of wind, she anchored in the Upper Harbor until the services of the Geelong could be obtained. The Glencoe was preparing to tow to sea when our despatch left this afternoon. The p.s. Wallace returned from her Oamaru trip last night. The schooner Teiu Esser, for Auckland, with cargo, removed from Dunedin yesterday, and anchored in the lower harbor to The schooner will shortly sail for her destination. The schooner Dunedin, on her voyage from Oamaru to Auckland, and when oft' Napier on the 14th nit. encountered a strong gale, during which a heavy sea broke on board, •washing away the man at the wheel, who was carried over the rail, and only saved himself by clinging to the main-sheet. Two other men, named John Brown and James Dick, who were standing np, were washed overboard and drowned. The schooner at at the time was travelling through the water at the rate of nine knots, and it was therefore impossible to render any assistance to the poor fellows.
