M‘Lend engaged the pla'ntiff as cle-k ta Mr Reid’s C •mmittce, but did not say he had arranged with the Committee, and had no idea th-y would repud ate the claim. He did not name any sum per day, nor did he know that the plaintiff received orders from Mr Sievwright.
