(fkom greville’s telegram company, reuter’s agents.) OPENING OF PARLIAMENT. Wellington, August 14. Parliament was opened by Commission to-day. The Hon. Major Richardson, Messrs Richmonds, Sewell, and Domett were the Commissioners. The Governor delivers the Speech to-mor-row. Sir David Monro proposed, and Mr Brandon, member for Porirua, seconded, the Hon. F, D. Bell as Speaker. There being no other candidate proposed, Mr Bell was declared duly elected. The Government will allow 25 per cent, discount on all jmess Parliamentary telegrams. Taranaki, August 10. Edward Hearle, late of the constabulary, was taken ashore from the steamer Taranaki, charged with stealing a L2O cheque. At a public meeting, a petition was unanimously adopted in favor of memoralising the Governor to remove the coroner on the ground of physical infirmity. He refuses to resign though asked by the Superintendent to do so.
