Last night the Provincial Council went into committee to discuss a resolution for additional railway and storage accommodation. Mr Buckley said the Government resolutions were antagonistic to the rcpprl/pf. a select committee on railway -Vhanagement, and moved that progress be reported. This was carried by 16 to 13. The Hon. Jno. Hall, to the surprise of everybody, 'announced the resignation of his Government, in consequence of the vote. A new Government will be formed, consisting of Messrs Buckley, Knight, and Cowlishaw, There is no alteration in the grain markets. The Diocesan Synod has appointed a committee to watch the steps taken in the matter of public education, and to aid by petitions and otherwise in obtaining a Colonial system of education in opposition to the denominational plan.
