There is no alteration to report in breadhtttffs since last week. The market still assumes a very quiet aspect, and further than the supplying of actual trade wants, there have been, no sales of flour. Several of the millers have given way in their quotations, but this has not in any way tended to increase sales, and until we hear that prices have become more settled in Australia, buyers will not bo found for larger quantities than will meet present requirement*. Good wheat is not inquired for ; there, however, has been very little offering. Oats for milling are in good sale at 2s 4d to 2s 5d feeding qualities are not very brisk. Barley has not improved. Wheat 5s Bd to 5s 3d. Oats, 2s 3d to 2s od, Barley, 2s to 3s 9d. Flour, best brands, Lls. Inferior, Ll2 to Ll3 10s. Oatmeal, Ll4 I Os. Bran and Pollard, including bag, L 4 10s. Pearl barley, L2O. Potatoes, L 3. Hay, L 4 10s. Chaff, L4los. Straw, L2 10s. ... A, Mercer reports for the week ending today ; — Retail prices—Fresh butter, in lumps and prints, Is 2d to Is 4d per lb, salt butter, Is 2d ; salt butter, in kegs, very unsaleable on account of so much in the market, and not bringing prices anything like its present value. Hams, Is per lb ; rolled and side bacon, lUd. English bams, Is 4d to Is 6d. jjggs, 2s per dozen and the market better supplied.
