DOCK TRUST.

A meeting of the Do.'k Trust was held at noon to-day, at the office of the Secretary, Mr J. S. Wehb, at noon. Present—Messrs R, B. Martin (in the chair), Bathgate, Bradshaw, Burns, Hill, and George M‘Lean. Mr Haggitt, Solicitor to the Board, and Mr Macgregor, the Engineer, were also present. The Engineer’s report, was, on the motion of the chairman, rem'ttod to the Solicitor for advice as to what course the Board should pursue. Mr George M'Lean then moved that : “A reply having been received from Mr Blackett, that he cannot possibly be present at the examination of the dock, the engineer provide himself with the assistance of such other engineers as he may think necessary in lien of Mr Blackett.” Mr M'Lean considered that such a course was not in view of going to jaw, hut that the Board should have such weight of evidence as to justify them in paying the money to the contractors if necessary, or to justify them in taking the case into the Supreme Court, should the opinion of the engineers be adverse to the bontractors.

The motion was seconded by Mr A. Burns, and carried men. con.

The Board adjourned to Wedneskay at noon.
