RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
This Day. (Before A. C. Strode, Esq., R.M.) Civil Cases. Meyer v. Kirkland.—Ll 10a, a claim for rent. Judgment by default for the plaintiff for the amount with costs. Russell v. Muir.—Lo 7s 6d,' balance of account. Mr Stewart for the defendant. This was an action to recover the value of a number of packing cases and a bedstead. The plaintiff agreed to give L2 .‘ls for the goods for which the defendant paid LI 15s Gd, and refused to give any mure. For the defence, it was set up that the plaintiff bid at tbe auction at which the goods were bought on behalf of the defendant as a riend. Judgment for the defendant. Blackadder v. Black.—Llo Ids Gd, fora sausage machine and insurance. No special agreement having been entered into for insurance, ds Gd was disallowed. Judgmentby default for the plaintiff, LlO 10s and costs. Thomson v. Huntley.—lGs, for a pair of boots supplied. Judgment by default for the plaintiff for the amount with costs.
