GENTLEMEN.- Having been requested by a large and influential number of my fellow citizens to allow myself to be placed in nomination for the office of Mayor, at the ensuing Election, I have great pleasure in acceding to their flattering request. I have had the honour of representing you as Councillor for Be 1 Ward during the past three years, in which capacity I trust that my endeavours to serve the ratepayers have met with your approval, and I am, therefore, induced to seek the high and honorable office to which I now aspire.
