The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £321 6s. 3d. Beyond a firmer tone in wheat, there is nothing new to report in the grain market. Prime milling samples of wheat are valued at Bs 9d, equal to cash ; but with the exception of one line, the transactions have been unimportant. Holders are looking for 6s : the millers, however, are not inclined to close at this rate. Lots that are scarcely fit for milling alone are in good supply, and are selling at 4s 9d to 5s 6d. Oats and barley are vdthout alteration. Flour is still firm at Lls, and throughout the week trade orders have been well maintained. Wheat, 5s 9d; oats, 2s 3d to 2a sd; barley—for feeding, 2s to 2s 3d—malting, 3a 9d to 4s; flour, Lls; pollard and bran, including bags, L 4 10s ; oatmeal, Ll4 10s ; pearl barley, L2O; chaff, L 4 ; hay, L 4 ; carrots, L2 10a; straw, L2 10s ; potatoes, L 3. A. Mercer reports for the week ending today Retail prices—Fresh butter, in lumps and prints, Is 2d to Is 3d per lb, according to quality, and getting scarce ; prime salt butter, Is 2d per lb ; butter in keg, provincial, lid to Is per lb, but not much demand, owing to so much imported from Wellington and Canterbury ; colonial cheese very plentiful —good quality, 6d to 8d per lb. Colonial hams, Is per lb ; side and rolled bacon, iOd per lb; English hams, Is 4d to Is 6d per lb. Eggs, Is 9d per dozen, and scarce this week.
