MAYOR’S COURT.
This Dav. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) DRUNKENNESS, id ugh Coyle and Georjge Stevens were each lined ss. Ellen Maitland and Mary Kerry, alias Cameron, 20s eaoh, ; or seven days’ imprisonment and Charlotte Frederic, alias ‘‘Sydney Liz,” 40s, or a week’s imprisonment, Ceorgc Munro, who was dismissed with a caution on the charge of drunkenness, was lined 20s for damaging Constable Barry’s uniform. ALLEGED THEFT, John F. Powell an I Chas. jßrown, charged with stealing a quantity of wearing appa el, valued at L 3, the property of one John Bagure, was discharged with a caution. FOUGEKY AND UTTERING, Andrew S. Gcddes was charged (on remand) with forging and uttering a cheque for LlO, with intent to defraud. The additional evidence was that of Mr A. C, Begg, accountant, who deposed that the signature to the cheque produced was not that of Mr R. Campbell, by whom it was purported to be drawn. The prisoner was committed for trial.
