Bluff, arrived this morning ; the passengers, mails, Ac., were, shortly after arrrival, conveyed to Dunedin W the Harbour'steamers. , Theie, Alhambra, CaptainT. Underwood, reports having been detained in Melbourne m the 20th inst., by a rtrong south-east gale, tmd Had to contend against strong south-east 'winds, which prevailed the whole of the passage to the Bluff. ' The Alhambra left Hobson? Bay on the 81st at 10.40 a.m,, passed Swan Island on the 22nd at 6.40 p.m, 330 miles of Swan Island sighted the s.s. Claude Hamilton ■; steaming westward made the South-West Cape on the 26th, at 7 a.m., arrived at the Bluff the same day at 9 p.ft., next morning landed passengers and discharged cargo, left at 3.40 p.m, and arrived at Tort Chalmers this morning at 7.30 a. m., experienced fresh north-east winds from the Bluff to arrival. We are also informed that the black whale’ captured yesterday at the Bluff, by Gilroy’s party, was being towed in by them past the Pilot Station, as the Alhambra was steaming out at 4 p.m. yesterday.
