This Society has been formed by an alteration of the Constitution of the Second New Zealand Building and Mutual Investment Society, 1864. By its Constitution it is able to tra’ sact every description of business usually undertaken by Building Societies ■ oth on the terminating and the permanent principle. Two Series of Shares on the terminating system ate at present in force —one dating from February, 1864, ami the other from Febiuary, 1870. The Society has the power to start new series of such shares at any time when it may appear advisable. Two New Series of Shares, called Shares of Class A and Class B in the Permanent Series, are now being issued. Sharks in Class A are of the amount of twenty-live pounds each, the principal being paid up in one sum. On these half-yearly dividends are paid at the rate of nine per c nt. per annum, and an annual oonus out of surplus prolits. They may be withdrawn at any time on three mouths’ notice, and form the most eligible investment for surplus funds now to be found in the money market. Shares in Class B arc'of twenty five pounds each, and will be realised after seventy-five monthly payments of five shillings each have been made. 'LL e holders of than will also be entitled to a bonus on realisation, equal to a proportionate share of the auxins profits of the Society during the period over which the monthly payments have run.
