Commercial.

The meant of revenue received at the Cus-tem-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £342 9s 4d. The business done in breadstuff's throughout the week has been chiefly confined to the execution of trade requirements. The millers have not been able to secure much Wheat of late, and the quantity now coming forward is not more than will meet the usual wants for flour; consequently the millers fcre not prepared to engage f° r the supplying of large parcels. The enquiry for flour in bakers lots has been brisk, and we do not hear of sales under Lls, for good biaced parcels can be easily quitted at this rate. In oatmeal, there is a steady trade being done with Northern ports, and the price remains as formerly quoted, The wheat now offered is as a rule rather soft, and wo are sorry to have to mention that a good deal of the deliveries have to be rejected on account of bot being eqnul to samp'e. As only the best of this season’s wheat will make a first-class flour, farmers will do well to forward nothing but the best quality, and by so doing they will prevent many of the disputes which otherwise so often arise. Milling parcels are firm at 5s 9d. A lerge proportion of the oats that have come to town this week are discoloured, and for this quality there are no purchasers. The value of good milling lots is 2s, 4d to 2s 5d Barley is in better supply. Malting is saleable at 4s, feeding cannot be quitted at any price. Potatoes ore fairly supplied and are firm at L 3. Wheat, 5s 9d ; oats, 2s 3d to 8s sd. Bailey 2s feeding, 4s malting. Flourin sacks, LIS. Oatmeal, Ll4 10s. Pollard scarce,, bran plentiful at L 4 10s, including bags. Pearl L 4. Carrots, L2 10s.
