(from oreville’s telegram companv, kkuter’s agents.) Pout Chalmers, June 22. At the Resident Magistrates Court this day, before Thomas Taylor, Esq., J.P., Michael Hogan, and John Steele were charged with being drunk and disorderly, and wore each fined 10s or 21 hours. Archibald M‘Yicar, Henry Thoms, and Angus M'Lean were charged with attempting their rescue, and were fined 20s. The above formed part of the crew of the Wild Deer, arrived yesterday. From the evidence, it appeard they behaved like madmen, creating great disturbance in George street, at midnight. Great credit is due to the police for the efficient and tolerant manner in which the disturbance was quelled and the arrests were made. A public meeting was held last evening at Crickniore’s Royal Assembly Rooms, to take into consideration the proposed water supply; Mr M'Dermid in the chair. The whole was referred to the Corporation, with a recommendation that a plan for water supply be brought in as soon as possible. The passengers per Wild Deer Avero conveyed this morning to Dunedin by the Harbor steamers. The s.s. Beautiful Star was taken out of the Floating Dock last evening.
