Mr Sumpter’s motion, that unexpended votes should bo revoted and take precedence over any sums to be voted, was negatived A sharp discussion took place on MrM'Kenzies motion for a survey of a railway line from Waikouaiti to Dunedin, which was carried by 27 to 10 ; and Mjr Cutten’s motion, requesting the Government to mako another appeal to the Assembly to validate the proclamation of the Stuart and Traquair Hundreds, and that the Assembly be applied to recoup any loss incurred by the Province owing to the defective proclamation, was carried.
