THE LATE FIRE.
The following letter was addressed to Mr J, Wain, Captain of the Fire Brigade : Dear Sir—l cannot allow the good services rendered by the jSrigacle at the tire of last night to pass unnoticed, for it was evident to all spectators that, had it not been for their efforts, the probable result of the lire would have been disastrous ju the extyou-c ; fc’nd'l admit that, but for'its' timely arrest, this company’s loss would have been mu oh greater than it is, In addition to the hearty congratulations and thanks of the' company I represent, which I beg you will convey to the Brigade ,aty our'earliest opportunity, 1 take the liberty to enclose, for L2&, to be disposed of in any way you deem best for the benefit of its members ; and 1 tru-t that the appeciatum of tlieir.sovvices may he like’iiyinaer by a.->me of the other companies, also iiiteresitpd, ■ Tain-. &c, • ' CHOUGH W.
