Evening Steer Office, Saturday evening. The amount ef revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption te-day, irae £657 4s lid. Although, since our last remarks on the grain market, flour has advanced 20s per ton, the demand has been steadily maintained ia trade lots, NowJ that town brands command Lls, speculative inquiries have erased ; the millers, however, have no fear of prices being snstained, but are sanguine fer higher rates, since the last news from California shows an advance of nearly L2 per tea there. Wheat has also improved, and for prime samples the millers are offering 5s 9d—6s has been given for a parcel intended fer gristing. The supply is plentiful and quality generally very fair. We may here mention that town millers have agreed Hot to grist wheat under 9d per bushel. Oats still continue dull, and purchasers are not buying beyond trade wants. Barley is requested at 4s, for malting. Wheat, 5s 9d ; oats, 2s 3d to 2s 5d ; barley, for malting, 4s; feeding, 2s 3d ; flour, Lls ; pollard and bran, L 4 10s, including bags; oatmeal Ll4 lOs; pearl barley, L2O; potatoes, L 3; straw, L2 10s ; hay, L 4; chaff, L 4 ; onions, Lll ; turnips and carrots, L2 10s. Messrs Wright, Stevenson, and Co. report having disposed of a mob of light draft colts, ex Wellington, at prices varying from Ll2 to L3l. The Attendance was good.
