The 8.8. Wellington, from northern porta, commanded by Captain Kennedy, arrived to-day at 0.30 p.m., and reports leaving Wellington on the 29th at 6 p.m. ; arrived At Lyttelton cm the 30th at 11 a.m.; sailed at 8.43 p m., and arrived as above. Light variable winds were experienced on the passage from Lyttelton nntil 7 a.m. tbs morning ; thence S.W. winds to arrival. The passengers, amongst whom were the Lord Bishop of Christchurch, Lord Bishop of Wellington, his Lordship Bishop Williams, and the Hon. Dillon Bell, were conveyed to Dnnedin by the Golden Age at 2 p.m. On arrival, the Wellington was anchored near the Jetty, so as to facilitate the discharge of horses, there being 21 on board. The s.s. Taranaki was this morning hauled to the entrance of the dock, for the purpose of re-shipping the rodder, which, on examination, was found to have had its stock fractured, necessitating the welding on of about eight feet. This piece of heavy work was successfu'ly performed by Messrs Morgan and M'Greggor, and the rudder reshipped this morning ; after the steamer was again hanled inside, as it was found that there was more water inside than at the entrance at the dock.
