Commercial.

Evening Star Office, Saturday evening.

ISn amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £262 10s Oil.

Throughout the past week breadstuff's have been very firm, and prices have hardened far* the arrival of Australian advices by the Omeo. We understand that most of the millers, on account of being lightly stocked With wheat, are refusing to advance, but all parcels that have been offered during the week have been easily disposed of at very satisfactory rates to merchants, who are purchasing with the intention of holding. We would draw the attention of farmers who yet hold wheat to the prices ruling in Australia and California, and seeing that our supply is not overabundant, there is no reason why they should not hold for higher rates, than hm> at present be obtained. We may quote 6s fid, as being millers price for first-clas samples. There is no Improvement in oats ; millers and dealers are well supplied. All nod (barley is easily sold at 4-* and as there is very little is the market an advance will most likely be looked for before long. Feeding qualities cannot be quoted Over 2s. The millers are not disposed to quit flour at Ll4, atti unless for trade demand scarcely any has been sold during the week. Although Ll4 is quoted we may expect an improvement about the commencement of next week. Bran is dull of sale and shipments are being made to clear the market.
