MAYOR’S COURT.
This Day. (B)fore his Worship the Mayor and J. Brown, Esq., J.P.) DRUNKENNESS, John O’Sullivan was fined 10s, and George Watt, who was drunk while in charge of a dray, 40s or 3 days imprisonment. THEFT. Jamc Aitken pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a case of plate glass of the value of 30s. Sergeant Thompson stated that at three o’clock this morning the prisoner was observed proceeding in the direction of the jetty with a case, which he dropped as soon as ho saw a constable. He was quickly arrested, when he said he lived at North Dunedin, which on enquiry, was found to be untrue. He had to ask for a remand until Monday to enable the police to make enquiries as to his antecedents. Remand granted.
