WASTE LAND BOARD.
This Day. The Waste Land Board met at noon to* day. Present The Chief Commissioner of Waste Lands, Messrs E. B. Cargill and C. E. Haughtou. George M‘Donald’s application f<>r a coal lea-e, al>out two miles from Alexandra, was approved on the usual terms —the survey to be made at the expanse of the applicant. The application of Alfred Parker to purchase part of the Mimihau Bush Reserve, was decline:!.
James Toil’s application for an extension of time to enter upon occupation of section 4, block 1, Martin’s Bay, or to purchase at 5s an acre, was referred to the Jamestown office.
Block Herbert, section 25, applied for purchase by W. C. Young, was ordered to be offered for sale at the next auction.
The application by Messrs Smith and Anderson, as agents for J, Kicnolas, John Jenkins, and ,L L, Edwards, for a lease of 10 acres for coal mining in Cromwell, was referred to the Secretary for Laud and Works for report by the Warden. The plans of Ophir (Black’s) survey, by John Connell, of Haudyside and Black’s pre-emptive right, and plans of sale for Wairuna and Crookston Hundreds, were : pproved. The Ranger’s report on the bush in sections 57, 58, and 5!), Otepopo, wore considered. It was resolved that each section lie leased separately by auction, at an upset price of Llo—the right of limber to be reserved to the public.
