Aitchison and pa-rty have found a new reef at Garrick Range, between Smith's and Pipeclay Gullies. Gold is visible throughout the stone ; and it is supposed the main reef has been struck.
Lwercahgill, March 27.
News has just been received that a German ship, with a cargo of tea, went ashore at Riverton Bench early this moniing. The Harbor Master and Collector of Customs have gone to the scene of tl)o accident.
The Invercargill ftpinination took place to-day. Messrs Lumsdep and M‘Clurc were proposed. The poll takes place on Thursday.
AVanganui, March 27.
A man named Bayles hung himself to a post this morning. When the body was found one foot was touching the ground, Jealousy and pecuniary difficulties were the capse of the rash act.
