At Windsor Castle, during the absence of her Majesty the Queen and Boyal Family in the Isle of Wight, considerable progress has been ma le with the preparations for the approaching nuptials of her Royal Highness Princess Louise and the Marquis of Lorn, The Albert Memorial Chapel at the eastern end of St. George’s Chapel, and which was once known as Cardinal Wolsoy’s Chapel, is lacing prepared for the ceremony. The in? terior wads of the Albert Memorial Chapel are decorated with Baron Trequeti’s b.antiful marble pic ure, the Salviato Mosaics, and other unique and costly adornments. For the purpose of the Uoyal wedding the interior of the building will be transformed into tastefully fitted up assembling and retiring rooms, and the stone pavement is being covered with a boarded flooring. The Albert Memorial Chapel is only separated from the east end of St. George’s Chapel by the Dean and Canons of Windsor, and the marriage procession would therefore have to proceed but a short distance—in fact, but a few yards—to reach the rails in front of the altar. With the view of affording proper accommodation for the numcious and distinguished persons who may bp expected attend the marriage the exJj.pt number of sittings in th; chair lias been ascertained by the Court officials. paragraph “ Mrs Goodrich gave a read ng List night in the hall of the Fir»t Middlesex Volunteers, (,'hehea, the object being to raise funds to prosecute the suit which lias been carried on in the Div. rce Court.” Whereupon another journal says very justly “ All right-minded people, we shoul i think, Inust regret that the unpleasant details of Mr and Mrs Goodiich’s domestic life are to he raked np again ; but it is an ad lit onal insult to public decency when one of the actors in the disagreeable drama sends round the hat to enable her to go through another pcrfmmance in one of our law courts.” Five of the lady students who entertained, or whose instructors entertained for them, the modest amhiti n of proving their competency to pass the ordinary Cambridge University examinations, have been examined by the Cambridge examines, and their report shows that four out of the five attained the standard required Cor a first-class, and the liftli that necessary for a second-class. Two of the five wi re examined in the additional subjects and approved. The clas-ical examiners spoke vei y highly of the classical work of all the students, it would he more natural that the ladies would graduate as wranglers. Au unfortunate pork butcher at Bapaumc, who had the honor of entertaining some German officers of rank, expressed himself as follows : “ Monsieur, the unluckicst news I can receive is that of a French victory ; for as sure as I hear of it, so sure do the Prussian troops enter my house four hours after.” Prince Frederick William will litreaf or he styled “Imperial Highness and Crown Prince of Germany.” A now sovereign is about to he coined, which will have for the obverse the Uoyal effigy, with the inscription “Victoria D. G. [ Britanniar : log.: F.D.”; ami for the re-j versa the image of St. George aimed sitting on horseback attacking the dragon with a sword, his spear having been broken in the en-tounter, and the date of the year, with a graining on the edge of the coin. The following appeal to the Fiancs-Tireurs is published in the principal journal of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg “ FrancsTireurs, to the field ! If there were in France but GO 000 Francs Timurs, and they only killed two Prussians a day. Franco would be free in less than twenty days ! ”
