Eveniva Star Office, Saturday evening. The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £393 Os Oil. In hreadstuffs there is change. Ihe wheat crop is much scarcer in the market than was expected ; this is chiefly owing to late rains ; and the appearance of a continuance of unfavorable weather has caused farmers to stack the gram instead of thrashing the field. Although there is so little TrWV offering, it i*» difficult got it under 4s per bushel if landed in Dunedin. As millers’ stocks are very light, good samples are easily quitted. Oats steady, but slow of sale. Trade demand for flour still continues good ; the price, however, is unsettled. Wheat, 4s ; oats, 2s 6d to 2s 8d ; barley, 2s 4d to 3s 6d; flour, approved brands, LI I 10s ; pollard and bran, L 4 15s, including bags—sale dull ; oatmeal, Ll6 ; pearl barley, L2O; bran, L2 10s; hay, L 3 15s to L 4 ; chaff, L 4 ; potatoes, L 3 to L 3 10s— g od Supply ; carrots, L 3 ; onions, Ll4. A. Mercer reports for the week :—Fresh butter rising in price ; lumps and prints, according to quality, 8d to lOd, and in good demand; salt butter, in kegs, 8d per lb, but little demand. Colonial cheese, bd to 8d per lb, and very plentiful; quality good. Colonial hams and bacon, lOd to Is per lb ; English hams, Is lid per lb, but little demand. Eggs very scarce, Is 9d per do/. Driver, Stewart, and Co. report for the Week ending 11th March, 1871 Fat Cattle.—About 35 head prime quality weie yarded, which realised LG 13s each, or- say about 18s Gd per lOOlhs. Fat Sheep.—Only a few hundred were brought into the yards, all of which were taken by the Meat Preserving Company. We quote prime half-breds at 2d, do Merinoes at Ifd, per lb. Store Sheep.—We have placed 3000 4, 6, and 8-tooth wethers at 4s 6d; 2000 do at 4s 3d ; 3000 mixed lambs at 3s 6d each, which may be taken as the present market values. Store Cattle. No transactions. Wool.—Next public sale will be held on Wednesday, 15th inst.
