After hearing evidence as to character, the Bench came to the conclusion that David Curie, who was yesterday charged with being illegally on the promises of Mr C. Smith, Queen street, went there with no feloirous purpose, hut maiked their sense of his disorderly conduct by fining him 40s. KBERING A DISORD RLV HOUSE. A charge of this nature preferred against Ellon Murdoch was withdrawn by the police, on the understanding that she would leave the Province within 14 days. AVI'II.IATION. Thomas Botcharil, express driver, was summoned by Mary Ann Wilson, widow', for neglecting to contribute to the support of his illegitimate child. Mr Cato ore appoa ed for the defendant, who denied that he was tho father of the child, on the ground that his connection with the plaintiff was of less duration Hi in li ne months. A few questions by the Bench elicited the information, that he ha i known her for nine months, save a few da\ s; and the evidence went to show that on two occasions he had admitted bedng the father. The Bench considered there was no doubt as to the paternity of the child, and ordered tho defendant to pay 7s fid weekly towards its support.
