S i -t, —Immediately after the election for Oamaru, it was publicly stated (and the statement appeared in print) that a great number of the electors who had promised to support Mr M icassey were kuown to have voted against him. To-day, on the terrace, Mr Macandnw stat ’d that almost without an exception the members of the civil service ha I voted against him. Now, sir, I should like to know if we have the ballot or not; and if so, how it becomes known how the electors vote? Elector, February 28, 1871.
