The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption to-day, was £516 14s 7d.
The new crop is now being freely offered, and both wheat and oats are coming to baud in fair supply. Should the weather continue favorable, the harvest returns this year will be abundant, and of superior quality ; and there is little doubt but that the quantity that will be imported from Canterbury will be very trifling as compared with the last two seasons. Sales of new wheat have been made at 4s 3d, delivered iu Dunedin,
ami from samples to hand the quality is excellent ; this price, however, is only for the primest milling parcels. As the market will he fully stocked in the course of a fortnight, we may expect quotations to he a little easier. In first class samples of old wheat there are no transactions to note; and for second qualities purchasers are unwilling to close at 3s 9d to 4s. Oats are not very brisk, although stocks are low. Sales of new have been made towards end of the week at 2s 9d ; old. for horse feed, are firm at this figure. Barley still continues very dull of sale. For first class flour the demand during the week has been over the supply, and Ll2 10s is readily obtained ; for inferior lots there is hut a limited town demand. Wheat, fb’st class old, 4s 6d to 4s 9d ; new, 4s 3d ferior, 2s 6d to 3s 9d. Oats, old, 2s 91 to 3s ; new, 2s 6d to 2s 9d. BarLy, 2s Od to 3s. Flour, LI2 10s to Ll3; inferior, L 9 to Lll 10s. Pollard and bran, including bags, L 4 15s, Stocks accumulating. Oatmeal, IdO to LI 6 I Os. Pearl barley, 1.20. Straw L2 lOsto L2 15s, Hay, 13 15s to L 4 Chaft, L 4 ss. Potatoes, L 4 10s. Carrots, L 3. Onions, LI3. A. Mercer reports for the week:—Fresh butter, in prints and lumps, 8d to lOd per lb., according to quality; prime Provincial salt butter, in kegs, to Bd, but no demand. Provincial cheese, fid to 8d per lb., and coming in very plentiful, and quality equal to Canterbury. English cheese unsaleable. Colonial hams, lOd to Is per lb. Rolled bacon, 9d to lOd. English hams, best brands, Is fid pr lb. Eggs very scarce, Is fid per dozen Driver, Stewart, and Co., report for the week ending 23th February : Fat Cattle There has been a slightly brisker demand during the past week, but prices have not materially altered. No cattle have been yarded for public sale. Quotal ions, p ime quality, 18s 6d per 100 lbs ; medium, about 15s. Fat Sheep.—The market is becoming bare, and an advance of | per lb may be quoted for finest quality. Some very prime halfbred have changed hands at 2d per lb. Wc quote prime merino mutton at for forward delivery. Store Sheep.—We note a continued good demand for half-breds, and merino lambs and weathers. Of the former there are more offering. Sales of iambs have been concluded at 3s 3d, and we have transactionpending in 4, 6, ami 8 tooth wethers at 4s 3d to 4s fid. 2 tooth wethers are enquired ior at 3s 9d to 4^.
St:. -re Ccattle. —We have no sales o£ importance to record. We sold a few head at Palmerston on the 24th, at 30s to L 5 2s Gd each.
Wool. —Our sale on the 22nd instant was well attended, when about 275 bales changed hands at full rates. The telegraphic advices via Suez are meagre, but on the whole favorable.
