MAILS CLOSE — Per s.s. Alhambra, on Monday, the 20th inst, as under : - For India, China, Japan, Penang, Singapore, Ceylon, Aden, Mauritius, the British, French, and Austrian Post-o(Kces at Alexandria, Malta, Gibraltar, Marseilles, and the Travelling P.O, from Marseilles to Lyons, at 11.30 a.m. For Australian Colonies (exceptMelboume), at 12.30 p.m. 1 For London m‘Southampton, via Marseilles, and via Brindisi, Victoria, and Southland, at 1 p.m. For issue of money orders and posting of newspapers nod registered letters, at 10 am. Late letters may be posted as under For Australian Colonies, except Melbourne, with a late fee of 3d per letter, till 1 p.m. For London via Brindisi, with a late "fee of 9d per letter till 1,30 p.m. For London via Marseilles, with a late fee of 9d per letter till 1.30 p.m. For Melbourne, with a late fee of 3d per letter till 1.30 p.m. N.B. —An alteration has been effected in the rates of postage via Brindisi, as follows : LETTERS Not exceeding ioz, 9d Exceeding {oz, and not exceeding loz, Is 6d And so on, 9d for evgxy additional {oz •r fraction of 4oz. Newspapers under 4oz each, 41 For every additional 40z,, 4d BOOK AND PATTERN PARCELS, Not exceeding 1 oz, 2d Exceeding 1 on, and not exceeding 2 oz, 4d Exceeding 2 oz, and not exceeding 4 oz, 7d Exceeding 4 oz, and not exceeding 8 oz, Js 2d And so on, Is 2d for every additional Boz, or fraction of Soz.
