THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.
Ivaiapoi. On Friday, Mr John Studholme, a ministei’ial supporter, was returned without opposition for Kaiapoi. Waiuakapa. A private telegram says that Mr H. Bunny and the Rev. J. C. Andrew, both ministerialists, have been returned for Wairarapa.
THE HIGH SCHOOL. The usual quarterly examination for boys wishingtoenterthe High''chool, took place on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock. There were altogether 33 applicants, of whom only 20 succeeded in passing to the satisfaction of the Examiners. We have been requested to state th it any of the unsuccessful candidates, or others wishing to become candidates for admission, may submit themselves for examination on any Saturday morning, upon giving sufficient notice.
