Elizabeth Webster was lined 40s for conducting herself in a manner calculated to provoke a breach of the p ace. RESISTING THE POLICE. George Taylor was fined LlO, with the alternative of a mouth’s imprisonment, for attempting himself and inciting others to rescue the prisoner Webster whilst she was being conveyed to the lock-up last evening by Sergeant Baxter. ROBBERY AND ASSAULT. The further hearing of the charge against George Murdoch was adjourned till Monday next. OWEN (JUS AGAINST THE BYE-LAWS. John M'Lcunan was fined 20s and costs for allowing a cow to wander ; and Lewis Solomon 10s and costs, for casting filth up a right-of-way off Princes street.
