THE CAVERSHAM ELECTION.

The nomination of candidates to represent Caversham in tlic Assembly, took place at the schoolhousc, Caversham, to-day. Mr Burnside presided. The following gentlemen were proposed:— Mr James M‘lndoe, proposed by Mr Philip’ Dunden, seconded by Mr J. P. Jones. Mr E. S. Cantrell, proposed by Mr W. Barr, seconded by Mr H. Calder. Mr JVSedtt, proposed by Mr C. Sampson, seconded by Mr John Qrahan f . After the omdidates had addressed the electors, a show of hands was taken, with the following result: —

Cantrell ... ... ... ... 25 M'lncloe... ... ... ... 10 Scott 5 Mr Scott demanded a pull, which was lixed for the 23rd iust.
