To the Editor of the Evening Star. Sm—l would take it a favor if you would insert the following contradiction, as per Dallji Times issue of this morning— i:e., that the lire originated from the negligence or from an accident that resulted from some of the teamsters that patronise my stables. 1 claim this insertion on behalf of mys If and in vindication of the characteristic carefulness of all those that honor me with their patronage. My impression is that the cause of accident was spontaneous combustion, and not the result of matches. I ani, &c., George M‘Gavin, White Horse Hotel, George street, Dunedin, January 2.
