Napier, December 30, The Christmas festivities were very successful, though the weather was dull. The firing for district representatives took place yesterday. The shooting was very indifferent, the highest score being 38. A man named John Carty fell from Cobb’s coach at Te Ante on Tuesday, and was killed by the wheels passing over him. At the inquest on Wednesday, the jury returned a verdict of “ accidental death, by falling from the coach while intoxicated.” Gardiner, the youth who recently lost his arm in the flax mills, died yesterday at the Hospital.
