Public meeting List night unanimously resolved to memorialise the Government to cause Napier to bo included among the ports where the mails arc to be landed by the mail steamers, showing that delay so caused never exceeds two hours. Invercargill, December I I. There have been several meetings of the Chamber of Commerce, for the purpose of securing the district being proclaimed under the Land Transfer Act, with a local registrar. Communications have passed between the Colonial Treasurer and the Chamber on the subject. Messrs Calder and M cDonald leave to-night as a deputation to Mr Vogel.
