The Midlothian for Moeraki, and Cora for Molyneux, also took their departure. Messrs Patrick Henderson and Co.’s splendid composite ship Otago, commanded by Captain Stuart, was towed last evening to her discharging berth by the Harbor Company’s steam tug Geelong. Her passengers —amongst whom are a considerable number of children—have arrived in good health, and express much satisfaction with the accommodation, the superior qualities of the ship, and the kind treatment they have received during the voyage. Prominently amongst the many efforts made to relieve the monotony of the passage, by stimulating healthy exercise and pleasant pastime, was a bazaar by which about LI 5 was raised for tbe benefit of the Otago Benevolent Society. The ship has arrived in excellent order, and extremely clean. Every department seems to have had the greatest care bestowed upon it, and nothing has been omitted that would conduce to the health and comfort of those on board. The trim of the ship on entering the port was 17 feet 7 inches aft, 14 feet 3 inches forward. A very heavy gale, with a mountainous and confused sea, was encountered on the 6th of December, when some heavy water broke on board. With this exception, the weather during the passage has been, on the whole, fine. The Golden Age took the passengers and luggage to Dunedin on her 9 a.m. trip this morning.
