This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor. DRUNKENNESS. The case was dismissed with a caution, OBSCENE LANGUAGE. James Evereste, againt whom a warrant was issued “for not appearing upon a summons to answer a charge of this nature, was brought up in custody. The charge was fully proved, and he was lined Lf> or three months imprisonment. George Howe, for using insulting language towards one Lyons, was lined L 5 or fourteen days’ imprisonment. Mary Ann Sutton, for a similar offence, was lined LlO or three months imprisonment. NEGLECTED CHILD. A little' boy named William Pringle was, on the application of the police, sent to the Industrial School for twelve mouths. It

appeared thathehad been left in the custodyof a Mr Little, of Marewhenua, who is about to leave the Colony, and his father resides on the West Coast, and is in a position to pay for his maintenance. He will be kept at the Reformatory until such time as the police are able to communicate with his father.
