(Before his Worship tho Mayor, and W. Mason, Esq., J.P.) DRUNKENNESS. Edward Coonan was fined 40s, which was paid. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Edward Coonan, for this offence, was fined 40s, which was also paid. Jane M‘Leod and Thomas Hill, two old offenders, were each fined LIO, with the alternative of three months imprisonment. The Bench stated that the use of indecent language by these bad characters was becoming intolerable, and they were determined to pnt a stop to it by all means in their power. ATTEMPTED RUICLDE. Samnel Symms, remanded on this charge, was bound over to keep the peace for three months in his own recognisance of LIO. OFFENCES AGAINST THE BYE-LAWS. John Hamill, was fined 20s and costs, for driving a waggon without sufficient reins. Patrick Farrell, was mulcted in costs for allowing goats to wander, and a charge of allowing cows to depasture within the town limits, preferred against James Fraser, was dismissed.
