An energetic proprietor of gardens at North Woolwich, the same Mr Holland whose bullfights came off so unsuccessfully, has been signalising himself by holding a baby show, and now he has outshone himself by having a great barmaid contest, at which some 40 or 50»barmaids are on view. It is some consolation, indeed, to think that it has rauied heavily almost every day that this disgraceful exhibition has taken place, and it is to be fervently hoped that the contest will be as great a loss as that of the bulls was.
