THE QUEEN" AND THE ROYAL FAMILY.
To the Editor of thr Evening Star. Sir— As an Englishman and eke a Londoner, I wish to record my protest against the foul leader in tire Dalhj Tunes of this date—an article that will be acceptable to Fenians and ragamuffins only, such as lately met in Hyde Park to hiss our good Queen, at the instigation of a ruffian named Beesley, That the term ruffian is well applied to Beesley, it is but necessary to state that he was the upholder of Broadhead the infamous, and the Saw Grinders’ Union. Prove, Mr Editor, that the Daily Times is not the reflex of public opinion in Dunedin, by yourself writing a leader on the Queen and her family, couched in respectful language, and without seeking inspiration from music saloon choruses, Fenian mobs, or from that yet less reliable medium, the spasmodic telegrams of the American Press. I am, &c., Cockney, Dunedin, November 9.
