Messrs, wilson and birch, BREWERS, MALTSTERS, AND BOTTLERS, Respectfully inform the Public that during last session of the General Assembly a Committee was appointed to examine into and report by analytical examination, upon Ales, Wines, and Spirits exposed for sale. Amongst other Ales submitted for examination was a sample of our Ale then in use in Wellington. The following report of Dr Hector is the result of the inquiry : “No drugs of any kind were found in this beer by the most delicate tests. From the result of the analysis it appears that while the quantity of solid organic substances in the beer is small, that of the alco- } hoi is undoubtedly high. In respect to the I amount of organic or extractive matter, this sample compares with the Belgian and Darmstadt beers, while in regard to alcohol it nearly approaches to the Burton ales. (Signed) “J.
