MAYOR'S COURT.
This Day. (Before his Worship the Mayor.) CHARGE OF DESERTION. John Cook, was brought up, charged o« h’S own confession, with being a deserter from her 'Majesty’s 40th Regiment. There being no corroborative evidence he was discharged. DRUNK AND DISORDERLY. Montgomery Cunningham, for drunkenness, was fined ss, or 24 hours imprisonment, OFFENCES AGAINST THE BYE-LAWS. The following fines were imposed for the offences charged : - William Wheeler, neglecting to keep a light burning on the proper ssdo of hi? cart, 6d; Alexander Strode, riding ona dray, not having proper driving reins, 10? ; a further charge of not having the name and address of the owners painted legibly on the dray, was dismissed.
