"THE POST OFFICE TRAMWAY."
To the. Editor of the Evening Star. Sir, —Rehrring to your correspondent “ Alpha’s” unique style of criticism respecting the judicious remarks of “Ex High School Boy,” I cannot sec what his plastic encomiums on the scientific acumen of the gentleman who designed and superintended the construction of the “Poot Office tramway,” has to do with the subject of the High School fence, &c. The evident absurdity be has drifted into will produce a different effect to what he plausibly anticipates. As he particularly referred to the skill displayed in this hitherto unknown .tramway, I must say that I never saw a better sample of mis spent labor an .I money ; and I regret very much that a similar mistake has been made by the same person in erecting a useless and expensive crane on Rattray street jetty. In order to prevent any further waste of public money, it is to be hoped the Provincial Engineer will’make a mneh-desired change in his staff, and save us from such ridiculous and expensive specimens of workmanship as the mechanical contrivances referred to plainly indicate. I am, &c., Omega, Dimed,u, October 20.
